Knuckles Mountain Range

The Knuckles Mount Range has been declareed as a world heritage site by UNESCO. With its mist clad peakes, chilly breeze, enchanting valleys, clear blue streams, gushing waterfalls, and lush vegetation.


The Knuckles Mount Range is named after the five peaks; Kirigalpotta, Gombadeniya, Knuckles, Koboneelagala and Dothulugala, which look like the knuckles of a clench fist, that could be seen from many view points. the Knuckles locally called as 'Dumbara hills' meaning misty mountains, spans the upland and highland pene-plains of Kandy and Matale Districts covering an area of approximately 21000ha.

Hello, I am Janaka De Zoysa, a freelance trekking Guide in Sri Lanka. I studied Tour Guiding Training Program, conducted by the Department of Trade Commerce & Tourism Central Province, Sri Lanka. I have been successfully leading trekking & tours in the Knuckles Mountain Range from 2010. I have been leading guests up Knuckles Mountain for more than 10 years and has summited more than 500 times and also Heeloya and waterfalls trekking more than 1000 times.

I would be very excited to be your independent trekking Guide and take you on some of the most beautiful trails in the Knuckles mountain range.
